Hi, I'm Georgia.
I spent 16 years working inside complex, fast-moving technology organisations across APAC, Europe, Africa and the Americas, most recently as a Global Chief People Officer.
I was good at it. I rose fast and was promoted in most companies I worked for. And by 2023 I was running on empty. Not the obvious kind of burnout - the functioning kind, where everything still gets done and nobody can see what it's costing. I was performing a version of myself the role seemed to demand and I'd spent so long doing it that I'd lost track of what I actually believed about my own capability and what I was doing it for.
I stepped away. I spent time volunteering with communities overseas, working with children who'd been given opportunities and then had them stripped away. Watching what that did to how they saw themselves - to their belief in what they were capable of, their sense of what was possible for them - gave me the clearest picture I'd ever had of something I'd been living in - and seen other leaders living within.
From very early on, we learn to attach our worth to external things: praise, recognition, a job title, promotions and the beliefs other people have about us. When those things are withdrawn, the worth goes with them, because it was never held internally. I'd watched that happen to those children and I recognised it in people I had worked with, and it was the same mechanism I'd been running on. It's also what I now see in almost every leader I work with.
What I bring into a coaching room is 16 years of understanding the the role of leadership, as well as the system around a leader - the pressure, the politics, the organisational complexity that shapes the decisions in front of you. Most coaches work on the leader, I work on the leader and the system they're leading inside.
I work one-to-one with senior leaders, and embedded inside fast-growth organisations navigating change and complexity.
